SUMMER NEWS 2019

22 Jul 2019

Education Staffing Link Limited is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all team members to share in and support this commitment.

Our core is underpinned by a commitment and passion to balance the needs and requirements of both Schools and Team members with whom we work. To achieve this we focus on integrity, partnership and safeguarding; determined to deliver to pupils the quality of education they deserve and have a right to expect. In essence what we want is the very best for the children and by working collaboratively with all stakeholders we have a commitment to work hard and achieve that aim.

Thank you for sharing and supporting that commitment. It is our hope that we have offered the appropriate support throughout the year in order for you to achieve not only our shared but also your individual goals, aims and aspirations. We welcome your observations and feedback which help us improve the service we offer.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish all of our supply team an enjoyable, well-deserved Summer break and thank you for all your hard work this academic year. We will speak to all of you over the holidays to establish your availability and requirements for September.  It is important that we understand what your exact needs are to ensure that we can work in partnership with you and our client schools.

DBS

Over the summer holidays we will be checking the status of your DBS to ensure that you are linked to the update service.  If your DBS is not linked then we will make contact with you to arrange completion of another DBS.

Evidence of Identity

As one element of our Identity Checking procedure, we require to see, either a passport or driving license.

Individual Client Schools are rightly becoming more rigorous checking the identity of supply team members who visit their school; not always just on the first time. On occasion this year, a long standing, respected and valuable member of the ESL team member forgot their identity document. The school, with the team members consent, asked us to forward the copy we held.

The document we held, which had validated identity at the time of checking had expired. The school, though they accepted that we had gone through the DfE approved process of checking identity were nonetheless unhappy about accepting this as a valid form supporting their process of identity checking. On checking the procedure with the REC and the DfE it became apparent that both the school and ESL had followed the approved process.

Safeguarding is all of our responsibility and with that in mind we will be checking everyone’s form of photographic ID held on file; should we discover it has or will shortly expire, we will be in touch to ask for an up to date form.

In advance we thank you for your support.

Referrals

We would be grateful of any referral to ESL, experience has shown that supply team members that have been referred to join us have become an excellent part of our team and we are very grateful for all those recommendations.

Testimonial

“I find that ESL are my 'go to' agency as they always provide good, committed and conscientious supply teachers.  We have built up a repertoire of supply teachers with ESL that I can regularly call and arrange cover to be supplied. ESL are a professional and caring company that will always look to what the school needs regarding the ethos and the needs of our children.

I have an excellent working relationship with the staff at ESL and they are extremely proficient and understanding."

SH, Strategic Business Manager (May 2019)
