Corporate Social Responsibility

Education Staffing Link are accredited Birmingham Business Charter for Social Responsibility members since 2014.

The values of corporate social responsibility have been embedded into our business, helping to improve the economic, social and environmental well-being of Birmingham and its citizens.

There are six charter principles:

Local Employment – This principle is about improving the employment opportunities for local people through training, apprenticeship and offering employment to the local workforce.

Buy Birmingham First – This principle is about building the local economy by supporting local businesses and building your supply chain locally.

Partners in Communities – This principal is about providing both practical and financial support to the local community.

Good Employer – This requires you to provide evidence of how our organisation supports staff development and welfare.  You must pay the Living Wage.

Green and Sustainable – For this principle you need to provide evidence on how the organisation will protect the environment, minimise waste and energy consumption.

Ethical Procurement – The organisation must employ the highest ethical standards in its operations and those within the supply chain.

Examples of how ESL have embraced their Corporate Social Responsibility:

  • Work placement offered to a local school pupil
  • 95% of our suppliers are locally sourced and within 30 miles of our offices
  • Office team staff are encouraged and supported to act as School Governors or volunteers at local schools
  • All paperwaste and ink cartridges are recycled
  • Introduction of Ethical Procurement Policy
  • Pay the Living wage
  • Flexible working hours are provided
