ESL is committed to safeguarding the welfare of children. We will not assign a team member until all checks have been completed.
The checks that we conduct in support of the Safeguarding regulations include:
- References
- ID check
- Previous employment history
- Health declaration
- Enhanced DBS disclosure
- Qualifications
- QTS
- Prohibition from Teaching check
- Right to work
- Disqualification by Association check (self declaration form)
- Online Google search
- Teacher Regulations Agency check (TRA)
- Annual Safeguarding and child protection training
We provide written confirmation orders which satisfy all aspects of the DfE and Ofsted guidelines and produce a photo ID card which features the name of the candidate and confirms disclosure information. The information on the ID card will match that on the confirmation email.
We are proud to have been awarded REC Audited Education Status by the Recruitment and Employment Confederation. The REC Education Audited award verified that our policies and procedures are in accordance with the Employment Agencies Act, The Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Business Regulations 2003, the REC Code of Professional Practice and safeguarding practices in relation to children.
The REC state that ‘gaining this award acknowledges the dedication and professionalism that you and your staff deliver and ensures these stringent standards of compliance and best practice are met.’
We continue to be an REC Corporate Member and we continue to be subject to external audit as a DBS umbrella body.
