A. One call solves it all
We know how stressful it is to discover that you need emergency cover and that’s why our offices are fully staffed from 7am to 7 pm each week day. We are committed to providing suitably qualified and experienced teachers, nursery nurses and teaching assistants who will best meet your requirements. We ask that our supply team members arrive in school at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the school day. When a member of our team is assigned with little notice we ask that our team members arrive as quickly but as safely as possible and will always give an estimated time of arrival.
B. The Recruitment process
ESL is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. In support of this commitment and in line current DCSF advice, before our supply team members are assigned they have already completed a rigorous vetting process, which is summarised as:
- Face-to-face, professional interview
- ID check
- Qualification check
- An original Enhanced CRB Disclosure which encompasses List 99.
- GTC Check
- Health check
- Reference check
- Permission to Work
C. Training and Support
We strive to ensure the highest professional standards of teaching and learning wherever cover is needed. Behind every ESL Team Member is a support structure designed to help each one perform professionally and confidently.
D. Quality Assurance
The Quality Mark is a Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) initiative which is administered by the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) and was launched in 2002 to promote best practice and raise standards. The benefits of the Quality Mark to LEA’s, schools, supply team members and agencies are immense. The scheme gives schools and teachers confidence. By working in partnership with a Quality Mark Holder you can be certain that all the necessary and mandatory checking procedures have been successfully completed and that the provider is up-to-date with the latest DCSF guidance and best practice standards. Additionally, teachers and teaching assistants can be confident that they have selected an accredited and reputable service that will add value to their experience.
As a Quality Mark Holder, ESL has demonstrated under audit conditions that the procedures used to recruit, select, support, develop, manage and supply to schools exceed statutory obligations. The Quality Mark can only be achieved with rigorous assessment and a comprehensive on-site audit. Having secured the Quality Mark, re-accreditation audits are carried out every two years to ensure standards are adhered to.
The Quality Mark Team ensures that holders when recruiting complete the following:
- Valid CRB check
- List 99
- two written references
- permission to work in the UK
- GTC registration
- Health Check
- Identity Check
- Face to face interview.
By choosing an agency that holds the Quality Mark you will be assured that you receive a professional and transparent service which is essential to safe recruitment.
Additionally:
All members of the ESL Team are paid in accordance with the European Court of Justice ruling with regard the payment of holiday pay.
